King’s Oak Academy is a rapidly expanding all-through 4 to 16 academy based in Kingswood, Bristol.  There are currently 3 year groups in our primary phase – Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 – with Year 7 through to Year 11 in our secondary phase.  The children are excited to learn and are real ambassadors for our diverse community.  They benefit from a hugely positive and supporting learning environment.

King’s Oak Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).  The CLF is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West and currently sponsors 15 academies, eight of which are secondary, six are primary and one is a studio school catering for students aged 14 to 19 years.

We wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant with a specialism in literacy and numeracy interventions to provide a range of in and out of class support for students who need help with their learning.  This is a fixed term contract until 31 August 2018.

You will work across the whole school and have a timetable made up of both in class support for individual and groups of students, as well as out of class 1:1 and small group interventions.  You will be expected to have knowledge and/or experience of preparing and delivering 1:1 and small group literacy and numeracy interventions, as well as knowledge and/or experience of supporting the progression of students in this area.

Your role may change and develop within the area of intervention work as we will be reviewing and developing our support and provision with the new SENCO who was appointed recently and who will help to drive the learning experience for our students across the phases.
