Humanities Teacher - John Cabot Academy

Contract: full time and permanent

Salary: M1-UPS3 £22,467-£38,250 per annum (depending on experience)

Start: 1 September 2017

John Cabot Academy is an 11-18 secondary academy in Kingswood, on the outskirts of Bristol. The students at John Cabot Academy are motivated and keen to learn. The staff are an experienced and highly professional team, committed to continuing professional development.

John Cabot Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).  The CLF is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West. The CLF currently sponsors 16 Academies consisting of Secondaries, Primaries and a studio school catering for students aged 14 to 19.

In this role you will be:

  • Taking responsibility for the learning of allocated groups of students - planning, delivering, facilitating and assessing their learning.
  • Taking responsibility for your professional learning and development by taking part in the Academy performance management process and attending INSET and CPD sessions as required.
  • Taking responsibility with the support of the Head of Community for a mixed age-range tutor group, providing academic and pastoral support as required.
  • You will be QTS qualified. You will be a highly skilled professional, will share our commitment to deliver an outstanding student experience and will have the ability to deliver outstanding results.
