Haywood Village Academy is an exciting and relatively new primary school based in Weston-Super-Mare. The Academy provides education to 50 children, which will rise to 115 pupils in September 2017. The children at our Academy are excited to learn and thoroughly enjoy school. They benefit from a hugely positive and supporting learning environment. We are looking for a new SMSA (School Meals Supervising Assistant) to support our growing school.

Haywood Village Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).  The CLF is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West. The CLF currently sponsors 13 academies, seven of which are secondary, five are primary and one is a studio school catering for students aged 14 to 19.

As an SMSA, your duties will include setting up dining furniture and cutlery, cleaning during and after meals and supervising the children during their play, including applying first aid.

In this role you will be proactive and efficient, as well as able to foster positive 'working friendships' with children and staff.  You will need to be firm, fair and yet be able to reinforce our positive approach to developing excellent behaviour. If you have experience of supporting and caring for children and you are confident to guide and talk to groups of young children, we would like to hear from you.

The CLF will provide you with a hugely positive and supporting learning environment; and the opportunity to participate in both Academy and pan-federation professional development from a wide network of high quality education professionals.

To apply please complete the CLF application form, CVs will not be accepted.

Closing date:  Wednesday 26 July

Interviews to be held: To be confirmed

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive pre employment checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK and a child disqualification check.  The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.

Please note that if you have not had a response within two weeks of the advert closing date then you can assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
