Attendance Officer, City Academy

Term Time Only, plus 5 inset days

Start Date: 1 September 2017

Salary: CLF9 (£24,329 - £26,983)

Actual Gross Starting Salary: £20,744

City Academy is a forward thinking Academy based in St. George, Bristol.  City Academy provides education to 650 students. The students at City Academy are excited to learn and are real ambassadors for our diverse community. They benefit from a hugely positive and supporting learning environment.

City Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF).  The CLF is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West. The CLF currently sponsors 16 academies, eight of which are secondary, seven are primary and one is a studio school catering for students aged 14 to 19.

In this role you will be responsible for leading and managing the attendance of the students. Your duties will specifically include:-

  • Delivering quality school attendance support for children and families, within City Academy.
  • To manage all the planning and organization of staff duties
  • To manage all Year 7 and In Year admissions
  • Daily monitoring of academy attendance.
  • Produce attendance reports for House Teams, Safeguarding Teams and Academy Leadership Teams.
  • To ensure the Academy systems for identifying and improving persistent absenteeism are correctly followed.

You will be innovative, creative and flexible in your approach to achieve the best results.

You will have good ICT skills and possess the ability to input information accurately and produce reports and statistics to a high standard.  You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively time manage all your work accordingly.  It will be an advantage if you have experience of working with children and young people previously in a similar environment.
