Chester Park Juniors kick started Bristol Metropolitan’s Science Challenge. A number of primary schools have been invited to challenge their pupils’ knowledge and learn new skills in the planned afternoon sessions.
Today’s challenge, taught by Bristol Met’s Science teacher Riply Morrison, was to investigate chemical changes and to construct a mini firework!
Bunsen burners were used to heat chemicals to investigate what colour flames were produced. All the pupils gained Bunsen burner licences and they all thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon at Bristol Met.
Olivia Clifton Said, “It was great fun better than normal lessons. I can’t wait to go to Secondary School.”
Jake Rodgers said,” It was one of the best days I have had at Bristol Met!”
Jonah Carey said, “I loved all of it. I liked making the firework the most.”
Yukta Barad said,” It was so fun and amazing. I have learnt a lot today.”
Bethan Newton-Coelho said,” It was a lot better than normal lessons. Putting the chemicals in the flame was really fun.”
