A group of Post 16 Community Sports Leaders at Bristol Brunel Academy arranged a football festival for their local primaries to compete in.Over forty children from, Two Mile Hill, Air Balloon, Summerhill and Hillfields took part with all primaries fielding two teams each.

The Post 16 students coached, officiated and oversaw the running of the whole event, which took place on Bristol Brunel’s Astro turf pitch.

Sports Leaders UK provides nationally recognised leadership awards and qualifications that help people develop essential life skills such as organisation, motivation, communication and working with others.

Ian Slocombe, Joint Head of PE at BBA, said “It is great that the local primaries have responded so keenly to this festival and I am sure that the children will enjoy playing under floodlights. This is the first challenge to our Community Sports Leaders Group of Post 16 Students and it is hoped that they will be organising further events in different sports throughout the course of the Academic year.”

The eventual winners were Summerhill A

Second; Summerhill B
