Latin Street Jazz Dance Workshop At JCA

The MFL department organised a Latin street jazz dance workshop for students at the Academy for a second year running. A dancer from the dance centre in Bristol came in to lead the session. Oscar Anderson not only teaches at the dance centre but also performs with a successful dance group ‘The Floor Technicians’ who work with Latin music and rhythm as the inspiration for their choreography and performances.
This was an exciting cultural event for both language and dance students. As always, we endeavour to promote culture as an important and exciting part of language study. The workshop consisted of two one hour sessions and students from Years seven, eight and nine took part in the first session and then post 16 students took part in the second.
The students seemed to thoroughly enjoy the event and it was a great success!!
