Thomas Hamilton a Year 12 student at King’s Oak Academy organised a charity football match in aid of Help for Heroes.

A Year 12 Post 16 team went head to head against a team of teachers and staff from King’s Oak. In total there were nineteen students and around fifteen teachers who took part in this worthy fundraising event.

To further raise funds Thomas arranged a sale of goods, sweets and cakes. He also used this event to complete his Extended Project Qualification (EPQ.) This involves organising and arranging an event of any kind from start to finish.

Thomas said, “The students really enjoyed playing against the staff and we felt sure we could win. But, the main reason for this event is for us as a school to raise money and add our support to the Help for Heroes initiative which is such a worthy cause.”

The students beat the staff 7-2
