The Cabot Learning Federation which began life on 2007 has seen record results across all three Academies. The performance of all of our Year 11 students is simply amazing and is something to celebrate.

At Bristol Metropolitan Academy, 85% of the students attained five A*-C grades which represents an improvement of 42% since 2009. This is a spectacular achievement made even more impressive when we remember that it only became an Academy in September 2009. In addition 39% of the students gained their five higher grades with Engsh and Maths, an additional improvement of 9% on 2009.

Bristol Brunel Academy also produced their best GCSE results since opening in 2007-8. 83% of the students gained five A*-C grades, an improvement of 21% on their previous best of 62% in 2007 and 2008. The biggest improvement however was in the performance of students gaining five higher GCSE grades including English and Maths where 45% of the students attained this level. This is an improvement of 20% on the performance in 2009.

Last but not least, John Cabot Academy improved its performance for the sixth year running. This is impressive but even more significant when we consider the high performance that Cabot starts from. This year, 97% of the students gained five A*-C grades with 74% attaining five including English and Maths. On both counts this was a higher performance than previous years and is a stunning achievement for staff and students.

David Carter, Executive Principal of the Cabot Learning Federation said:

” We have worked hard as a team of Academy Principals to work on the ways in which we can create the best curriculum for our students, develop our staff to be as effective as possible and to support the students to meet their targets. In September last year we set stretch targets beyond those indicated by our core data and all three Academies have achieved beyond the stretch. Adam Williams at John Cabot, Armando di Finizio and Brigid Allen at Bristol Brunel and Steve Taylor at Bristol Met deserve every word of praise that will come their way over the next few weeks as this is a substantial achievement. We will enjoy celebrating as the new year begins but will get our focus onto 2011 results to make sure we build on this success next year”
