King’s Oak Academy (KOA)-Principal Ian Frost

KOA joined the federation in September 2011 when Kingsfield School closed and was replaced by the academy. The performance of the school has been impressive with a rise in attainment from 32% 5 A-C grades in 2011 to 52% in 2013.

The leadership of Ian Frost and his team has seen improvement in teaching and he is using his previous experience of leading in an outstanding school to bring this expectation to KOA.

The arts contribute massively to the culture of the academy and this is one of the reasons for the school’s high community profile. An annual concert at the Colston Hall involves over 1000 students from KOA and local primary schools.
