HPA joined the federation in September 2011 and in 2012 was one of the most improved schools in the country. In 2011, the results at the predecessor school meant that only 23% of the students attained 5 A-C grades including English and Maths.  A year later and this performance doubled to 46%, a truly fantastic achievement.

In September 2014 the academy will open its brand new £14m building and will become an iconic landmark in Weston super Mare. Armando Di-Finizio is leading his second CLF Academy having been the first Principal at Bristol Brunel from 2007 to 2010.
